Our acquisition process is designed to be straightforward, confidential, and efficient. Whether you are selling a single artwork or an entire collection, our experienced curators will guide you through every step of the process.
We are actively acquiring works by Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, Joan Miró, Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, Alex Katz, and other leading Modern and Contemporary artists.
Step 1: Submit Your Artwork for Review
Begin by sending us photographs of your artwork using our inquiry form, along with any information you may have regarding its provenance, dimensions, condition, or accompanying documentation.
A member of our curatorial team will review your submission and contact you promptly to discuss the artwork, answer your questions, and explain the next steps.
If you prefer, you are also welcome to contact one of our curators directly by phone or email.
Step 2: Expert Evaluation & Purchase Proposal
If your artwork is of interest, our specialists will conduct a professional market evaluation based on current market conditions, historical sales data, rarity, condition, provenance, and collector demand.
When appropriate, we will provide:
- A preliminary valuation of the artwork.
- A market assessment based on comparable sales.
- A purchase proposal or consignment recommendation.
- Guidance regarding the most appropriate method of sale.
Should the artwork be shipped to our gallery for inspection, Masterworks Fine Art will coordinate professional packing and transportation. Every shipment is fully insured against loss or damage while in transit, and you will receive a Certificate of Insurance together with shipment tracking information for your records.
Step 3: Prompt & Secure Payment
Once the transaction has been finalized, payment is issued promptly through your preferred method, including wire transfer, cashier's check, ACH, or other mutually agreed-upon arrangements.
Our goal is to make the selling process as seamless, secure, and transparent as possible while providing the level of service expected by collectors, estates, institutions, and art professionals around the world.
That's it!
A Personal Commitment
As Owner and Director of Masterworks Fine Art, I personally oversee every acquisition to ensure a professional, transparent, and confidential experience from our initial conversation through final payment.
Over the past five decades, our gallery has acquired thousands of works of art from private collectors, estates, institutions, and galleries throughout the United States and around the world. This experience allows us to evaluate each artwork carefully, provide informed market guidance, and make fair and competitive purchase offers based on current market conditions, rarity, provenance, condition, and collector demand.
While we primarily purchase works outright, we also consider select consignments when we believe they represent the best outcome for both the owner and the artwork. Our recommendation is always based on what we believe will best serve your interests and maximize the opportunity for a successful sale.
Once terms have been agreed upon, my team and I coordinate every aspect of the transaction, including professional packing, fully insured transportation, and prompt payment. Our goal is to make the process as straightforward, secure, and seamless as possible while providing the level of service our clients have come to expect.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss your artwork personally, I invite you to contact me directly at director@masterworksfineart.com. To help us respond as efficiently as possible, I kindly ask that you also copy info@masterworksfineart.com on your correspondence so that our team may assist with scheduling and follow-up.
